The trio travelled across desert plains, hotel swimming pools and rooms to build the cover and fashion spread. LA based celebrity photographer Lionel Deluy spent sometime with the FACTORY311 family at their HQ in Soho, London last week, while visiting the UK for a shoot. Lionel was in the capital to photograph the Oscar winning actor Colin Firth, the star of The King’s Speech. Despite a busy schedule and a long flight, Lionel found plenty of time to hang-out, eat and explore London. “London is one of my favourite cities,” says Lionel.

Thanks to the power of the internet FACTORY311 recently discovered the work of Venezuela based photographer Carlos Hernandez, better known as UK. Creative director of UKMCBO Photography, UK started to shoot mainly fashion photography around four years ago after studying in New York.

His showcase, a mix of commissioned and personal work, such as his ‘Men of Gaga’ series, is available via YouTube, following a decision to forsake a more formal website and portfolio for now.

A couple of weeks ago FACTORY311 teamed up with DISORDER MAGAZINE and 311 Photography Duo, the LaRoache Brothers, to shoot the cast of the troublesome Channel4 sensation, The Misfits.

Arsenal FC invited FACTORY311 to spend the day at The Emirates to watch the premier of our Arsenal Player teaser. The 12 second clip was played throughout the course of the game to the 60,000 fans who attended the Arsenal Vs. Liverpool game. FACTORY311 took full advantage of our media passes and went pitch-side and even through the tunnel! The game itself ended with a much awaited climax, with all the action happening in the last 10minutes, we were lucky enough to be sat directly behind the goal. Factory311′s friends Lydia Garnett and Vic Lentaigne are two emerging female photographers who will be showcasing their photographs of youth culture and documentary fashion in a collaborative and exclusive exhibition.
Garnett and Lentaigne met and studied at Brighton University, where they explored the themes of fashion, youth culture, transition, sexuality and identity. Old or new we love this shoot and we love Omahyra. Omahyra Mota covered Norwegian publication, Vixen, for their winter 2010 issue. Inspired by Franz Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, photographer Elias Wessel captures Omahyra as she contorts and morphs in sleek ensembles styled by Storm Pedersen.

We love this shoot for the June issue of GQ by the photographer Neil Gavin. He spent some time earlier this year travelling around the UK photographing the young new stars of English football for an 8 page story. A few months ago I had the pleasure of meeting Annegret Affolderbach, Designer & Founder of CHOOLIPS. Annegret is a fashion entrepreneur with wide-reaching vision. Lady Gaga’s always in the media these days for one reason or another. This time she covers the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar where she talks to Derek Blasberg about her facial and shoulder implants. Shot by Terry Richardson it looks like its gonna be an interesting issue.

NIKE78 is an exciting project created by Paul Jenkins, the graphic designer for Selfridges&Co, and was inspired by NIKE, a brand renowned for their creative ventures & aims to push the boundaries of sport. All creatives involved received a brand new pair of NIKE shoes and were then asked to use sport as their inspiration to challenge their function. See this unique project at www.nike78.co.uk

We’ve been blasting out some Jessie J in the studio today. Her album ‘Who You Are’ definitely deserves a resting place in your most played iTunes playlist. We also came to the conclusion that we HAVE to shoot her!! So if you’re reading this Jessie, get back to me and make my day, week, month and year!

We met up with photographer Brandon Showers while we were out in LA who done a shoot in the March issue of Bunker Hill. The shoot uses magnifying glasses to accentuate the make up by Magna Cosmetics and we’re happy to have him as a friend to FACTORY311.

The May 2011 issue of Vogue Russia features none other but Factory311′s Jamie Nelson. This shoot originally named ‘Tanning’ made it to a feature in the magazine. All clothes and jewelry were custom made by Jennifer Fein, who also does custom pieces for Vogue Gioello, Vogue Italia. This is an amazing platform for an amazing photographer and can only mean good news for the very talented Jamie Nelson. Look out for more info.

‘Big Gary P’ – Gareth Pugh’s designs captivate the fashion world with their futuristic and larger than life shapes. For the inaugural issue of Pony Step, the publication pays tribute to Pugh’s creations with studio portraits by Terry Tsiolis and stylist Simon Robins. With casting by Anita Bitton, an eclectic group including Danielle Zinaich, Gwen Loos, Pauline Van der Cruysse, Melodie Monrose and Ming Xi don the designs with cool confidence.

Lewis Hamilton has signed for Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment, the talent management company that counts David Beckham and Andy Murray among its clients.

Like a kid having fun with magazine cutouts in a cut-and-paste album, photographer Michael Donovan builds a creative set of pictures in the Tear Sheet spread for Factory magazine.

The editorial stars models Anna Rudenko and Ana Clara Lasta, whose portraits are skewed in layered photographs with mix-and-match cutouts. The duo sports designs from the likes of Lanvin for H&M, Calvin Klein and Charlotte Ronson in the creative fashion collage of the Tear Sheet spread.

Annie is known for her Rolling Stone magazine work where she started her career as staff photographer, working for the just-launched magazine. In 1980 she booked a shoot with John Lennon, promising him that he would make the cover.
Little did she know it was one of the most known John Lennon photographs of all time.
Today Annie focuses on Portrait photography, and this one – well, it speaks for itself.

Swedish photographer, Camilla Akrans, sets out on her career path in 1999, diverting from her original ambition to become an artist. However, she does not completely abandon her artistic beginnings, taking a painter’s approach to photography, as well as drawing on influences from film.
