We welcome Arturo with open arms as our first “Illustrator”. In the past we have never really looked at Illustrators in general but his attention to detail is so intricate that we had to get involved. And so with Arturo leading the way, illustration is now featured on the 311 roster.

Arturo begun working in the 1980’s as a women and men collections designer assistant in Barcelona, and has been creating seductive images for Victorio & Lucchino throughout his whole career. He has collaborated with designers and brands such as Loewe, Chanel Spain, Custo Barcelona, Rafael Matías, The Extrème Collection, Carrera & Carrera and Audemars Piguet to mention a few.

Away from the fashion industry, Arturo has worked creating images for advertising campaigns for brands such as Citröen, Reynolds, Drambuie, Upper Class Travel and Vero Vineyard. Arturo’s illustrations have also been featured in fashion magazines such as Telva, Elle, Mujer Hoy, Yo Dona, Máxima (Portugal), Angelines (France), Snitt (Norway), Vision (China), X Funs (Taiwan), DPI 8 (Taiwan), K9 (Ucraine), Marvin (Mexico) and IN Fashion (Colombia). From 1992 to 2009, Cosmopolitan (Spain) published his illustrations on a monthly basis.

From 1998 Arturo has been a permanent illustration guest lecturer in the Istituto Europeo di Design (Madrid, Barcelona). During this time, Arturo has been doing retrospective exhibitions of his work, and during the last three years has been giving master classes and teaching at workshops in the Complutense University of Madrid, Vigo University, CEU-San Pablo University in Madrid, Design College in La Rioja, EDA Fashion and Design College (Centro de Moda y Diseño) in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, and Menendez y Pelayo International University in Tenerife.

Arturo has won several awards and was recently invited by the Fashion Museum (Museo del Traje CIPE) in Madrid, where he launched an exhibition dedicated to his 25 years as an illustrator, called “Arturo Elena: 25 years of illustration”.
